Puddle Duck Hunting

Hunt the Dexter, Maine area for Mallards, Teal, Woody's, Goldeneyes, Scaup, Ringnecks, Canada Geese, and Black ducks.

Puddle duck hunting is done out of boats with full blind assembly. Goose hunting is done from shoreline blinds and field blinds.

Duck hunting boats are Crestliner, 18 foot with a full Beavertail blind that can accommodate up to 4 hunters.

Another duck hunting boat is a 21-foot duck water that accommodates up to 4 hunters.

Trips are booked with lodging and meals included.

Sea Duck Hunting

There are multiple ways of sea duck hunting. We hunt from the big boat over decoys, off ledges or from layout boats. Layout boats are one of the most effective ways to hunt sea ducks. Often times the ducks have no idea you are there until you pull the trigger, and shots are often under 15 yards. The conditions need to be suitable for that to happen. The guide will set up the boats and set hunters in them and then set up away from the hunters with a pair of two-way radios so they can retrieve ducks as they are shot.

Sea duck hunts for trophy Eiders, Scoters, and long-tail ducks are guided out of a 21 ft., duck water ocean-going duck boat.

Sea duck hunts are usually day trips out of the Saco Bay region, or the Bar Harbor and Penobscot Bay region.

There are also multi-day trips with lodging and meals included.
